Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 famous for its skin soothing and healing properties. Niacinamide is a precursor to two important biochemical cofactors: NAD and NADP+ of which both are central to the chemical reactions that the body cells need to repair damage, propagate, absorb & neutralize more free radicals and function normally. Acne, Redness and other inflammatory skin conditions: Niacinamide’s soothing and anti-inflammatory properties make it an attractive ADD-ON to the traditional Acne treatments in an effort to increase efficacy and tolerability.
Niacinamide increases epidermal production of ceramides which in turn improves the integrity of the lipid layer and epidermal barrier allowing for a normalized moisture balance because most topical acne treatments result in dryness
